Hey there everyone!
If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask you to put on your thinking caps, and answer a question for me.
Have you lost your motivation to do something, or anything at all even?
誰でも、モチベーションが下がる事ってありますよね!?
If so, that’s ok! In fact, I recently found myself in the same situation. Lately, the sun has been going down earlier every night, and I’ve been finding myself awash in darkness for longer and longer periods. Of course, I should be doing something with myself during these evening hours.
However, I just couldn’t find it in myself to! Instead, I would kill time with unproductive things, or at least things that I viewed as unproductive: eating, sleeping, eating, sleeping, etc.!
そもそもモチベーションとは!?
There’s been a lot written on the topic of motivation, but for me, and what I’ve realised, is that motivation itself is not some special feeling or attitude that you have. Instead, motivation stems from overall wellbeing and happiness. For me, it didn’t take one specific ‘eureka’ moment when I found my motivation.
Instead, motivation for me comes after any positive experience, or when I’m feeling good. Sometimes, I’ll hear a good song and get motivated. Other times, I’ll meet with friends and have a good time doing yoga. Or, as is most often the case, I’ll have a great surf, leave the water with a huge smile on my face, and be in a good mood for the rest of the day. It’s those days where I’m at my best, and I can get the most done!
モチベーションの考え方を変えてみる方法?
So, instead of focusing hard on motivating yourself, or trying to focus specifically on English, try and think about yourself on a deeper level. Why are you unmotivated to study? Or, are you really unmotivated to study specifically? Instead, maybe something else is missing.
What you need to do is ‘get the ball rolling’, which is to get your life started and back on track! Find what makes you happy, and indulge! It can be anything; athletics, art, music, reading…the list goes on and on and on…
あなたのモチベーションの元を探そう!
So, while you may be lacking motivation, if you can find other positives about your life, you might suddenly find yourself fully motivated to do something like study English!
And of course, I’ll be right here on Fruitful English waiting for you! In fact, one of the things that motivates me and makes me happy is working. People often ask me about my schedule, and I tell them that I work almost every day, with virtually no holidays. I also work nights and mornings! However, working makes me happy, and I wouldn’t have it either way.
Workaholic or not, it motivates me, and I hope I could inspire you to be happy. I think you’ll find yourself more motivated as a result!
